Question:
What if a customer wants to do a partial payment instead of a lump-sum payment? Can they do that?
What if they only one to pay a portion as a deposit and then pay the remainder later?
Answer:
GetMyBoat's goal is to send you as many serious customers as we can. To save any wasted time and headaches we require that the customer pays for the entire trip upfront, which is the norm across any other travel vertical (Airfare, Hotels, Group Tours, etc).
We have tested out partial payments in the past and from our data we found that when customers were able to make partial payments they were more likely to cancel their booking at some point before departure.
We hope you can see we are not trying to lose you any business but instead trying to send you more qualified and serious guests. Guests that pay in full are more likely to go through with a booking.
Also, at this time, GetMyBoat does not have the ability to process multiple transactions for one booking nor do we have plans of implementing one in the near future. We rely on you to recommend and insist the customer pays in full at the time of approving your offer!
If you have any questions, please let us know and please encourage any customer to book in full. From what we've seen, it will save you from a cancellation later.
