How do I file a claim for the security allowance/deposit with Getmyboat?
If you feel you have a valid claim for a portion of the security allowance, you must notify us by emailing support@getmyboat.com within 48 hours of the boat's return. Getmyboat encourages renters and owners to work out any post-rental fees directly but if a credit card charge is preferred or you need help resolving an issue, GetMyBoat can use an owner's security allowance to help cover minor expenses that occur during a booking including minor damages, cleaning fees, gas fees, additional time out on the water, etc.
Please note that Getmyboat will require some documentation from you for any claim made, namely any photos, contracts, agreements, Pre & Post walk-through inspections, estimates, quotes, receipts, or any other type of documentation that may be helpful. All quotes, estimates, and or invoices must include contact information for the business providing the document to you. Getmyboat and the renter must be able to contact the business directly to verify if needed.
If Getmyboat cannot verify your claim, you may not be issued the allowance. Please note that Getmyboat tries to have claims resolved within a week but sometimes resolutions may take longer.
