Why does GetMyBoat sometimes request IDs?

We understand sending an ID online can seem risky. However, GetMyBoat works with two 3rd party companies Evident & Persona to provide a safe way for our customers to submit their ID and selfie without the worry of identity theft. Please note they both have secure databases and your privacy is of the utmost importance.

GetMyBoat requests ID for the same reasons you are asked to show an ID when boarding an airplane or booking a hotel room. We want to ensure we are getting the right people on the water while also ensuring the safety and security of the community including our watercraft owners and managers.

Please note in certain cases if we do not receive a valid ID, GetMyBoat may cancel a booking.
